As you may be aware, The Terling Pub Working Group (“The Group”) along with Terling and Fairstead Parish Council (“T&FPC”) have been approached by an agent working on behalf of Barclays Bank PLC in relation to the potential development of the site of The Rayleigh Arms (“The Monkey”).

There have been a number of suggestions put forward and the time has come for us, as a community, to provide some direction as to what we might like to see on this site.  

For this reason, “T&FPC” has asked “The Group” to research the likely preferences of the community and to report back to them their recommendations. “The Group” has decided that the best method to appraise the majority’s preference is to organise a simple vote in order for residents of the Parish to indicate their general preference in an empirical way .

VOTING WILL TAKE PLACE IN TERLING VILLAGE SURGERY BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 9AM AND 1PM ON

FRIDAY 22^ND APRIL AND SATURDAY 23^RD APRIL

We will be presenting 3 contrasting  options on boards in the surgery for your review on these days. Options will also be summarised and placed on notice boards around the village from the week beginning 18^th April.

In order to keep voting simple and unambiguous, there will be one vote per household and you will be asked to simply show your preference for one or other of the 3 options.

If for any reason no one from your household is able to attend on either day but you would like to nominate another household to be your household’s proxy, please collect a Proxy nomination form from the Village Stores before the 22nd, complete the details and give it your nominated proxy to bring with them when they come to The Surgery to vote.

THIS IS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY FOR US TO BE HEARD.PLEASE COME ALONG AND HAVE YOUR SAY.
