What is a Village Design Statement (VDS)? The focus of a VDS is to describe the character of the local area and include guidance to influence change and improve the physical qualities of our area. The Village Design Statement is currently under construction with Paul Harrison leading a small team of volunteers. Following is a guidance document from Braintree District Council, it is will worth reading the first four pages to get a better understanding of a VDS. The remainder of the document describes in more detail how to create a VDS. The Photographic Worksop on Saturday 24 March was a great success, very well attended (even on a freezing cold Saturday). We have over 450 photographs of the village and the views of many residents on the good, the bad and the ugly! Each of the eight groups took on an area of the village and gave a presentation on what they found. The results of these findings will be published soon. Thanks to Paul Harrison's cooking skills, everyone enjoyed a hot lunch! It's my village too! Village Design Statement Guidance. Link to map of the village envelope.
